Here's the deal.

I'm moving camp over to Dreamwidth.

I simply do not have the time to police LJ settings and policies and keep those damn kids off my fucking lawn. I'm setting my lawn on fire and moving to that charming cabin in the woods where I can drink beer on the porch sans pants or solicitors.

I'd love to know how to download a copy of this journal for posterity, but I'm not looking to migrate it over wholesale or keep the rubberneck name. Any links for how to pull a copy of my posts and comments?

I'll be posting a link to the new place shortly. If you don't see the link, email me and I'll probably set you up: mochaphineATgmailDOTcom.

You should be able to import everything to DW for backup, even if you don't keep the same name. To my knowledge, DW doesn't have an Exporter yet, however there are some LJ exporters around. Erm. LJBook was one, dunno if they're still around. There was also an XML-based one that was pretty handy, and of course I've forgotten the name.

Let me know if you need an invite code, but there seem to be plenty around.

Also, WELCOME! I really like DW, not least because my flist isn't blocked at work (yet).

I don't know if you're Mac or PC -- for Mac, I used this program (http://antennapedia.livejournal.com/266462.html) successfully a couple years ago to archive my journal. But it would be even easier to just import the whole thing to your new DW account under privacy lock -- as I recall, DW's importer lets you make the imported entries private with just one click.
