Gorman knocked it out of the park. The unstoppable momentum of her piece was a tonic after years of the firehose of cruel and incoherent bullshit.

I did not know the musical lineup, so when Lady Gaga was announced I snorted. She's got the pipes and the range, and she did a workman's job. Just being a culture war icon up there in a tasteful ballgown was enough to thrombo some of the viewers I'm sure. She looked nervous before, and moreso after.

JLo brought an unexpected gravitas and passion (and liberty and justice for all), that was echoed by several speakers. When she was escorted off she looked triumphant.

Even Klobuchar brought a hot dish of energy to her MC gig. I feel like her comment about the sun coming out was 10% snowbelt "oh hey, sun", 30% a dig about Resident Dump's hissyfits over the last inauguration's weather, and 60% joy that no one has to fucking argue about alternative fucking weather facts bc adults are in charge again.

In closing I very much appreciated the way Garth Brooks paused to doff his hat before singing his hymn, and again before going back into the Capitol building.
